The album starts with a great version of Randy Newman's "Louisiana" and also includes "Feels Like Rain", "Ave Maria", "Please Stay", "Feels Like Rain", "Angola Bound" as well as the hit "Close Your Eyes" as a duet with Ronstadt. This longtime audiophile favorite was produced by Neville, Ronstadt and George Massenburg who also engineered and mixed the tracks. This is one of those records that gets to the end of a side too quickly; but what a delight when you turn it over to play the other side! Mastered from the original master tapes and cut on Classic's "ALL TUBE" stereo cutting system by Bernie "The Wizard"Grundman and pressed on Classic's 200 G Super Vinyl Profile* for maximum fidelity. \r\n \r\n Background on Clarity Vinyl Pressings.\r\n \r\n In 2008, Classic discovered that demagnetizing black vinyl records leads to better sound in playback. The engineers at Furutech in Japan, makers of a commercial record demag machine, explained that the carbon black that was added to PVC record pellets contained trace metal that became randomly magnetized and while spinning below an electro-mechanical transducer (phono cartridge) caused electrical distortion inside a cartridge during LP playback. Hence, demagnetizing a black vinyl record dramatically reduces the electrical distortion and leads to more "Clarity" in playback. Michael Hobson, founder of Classic Records reasoned that if the carbon black were removed then the result should be more Clarity in playback. Working closely with the PVC manufacturer Kenan, Classic developed its own proprietary "Clarity Vinyl" devoid of the problems with trace magnetic particles contained in black vinyl formulas. Clarity Vinyl represents the ultimate in vinyl formulations because it is comprised of over 90% percentage of the highest quality co-polymer available - a key component in vinyl pellets used for manufacturing vinyl records. Further, Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LP’s. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause “electrical distortions” in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the “electrical distortions” and thus bring more “Clarity” to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast.A Clarity vinyl pressing on a flat profile die is the absolute ultimate pressing possible and even a step above the JVC UHQR black vinyl pressings. | Input props | [ "produit" => App\Entity\Produit {#2059 -id: 541 -nom: "Straight From The Heart" -informationComplementaire: null -description: """ Ann Peebles’ climb up the career ladder was rather more conventional than spectacular in the tough, rough days of rhythm and blues. She was first discovered when she appeared in Memphis nightclubs, was given a break by the big-band leader Gene 'Bowlegs' Miller, and landed her first top hit with the celebrated song "I Can’t Stand The Rain". Towards the end of the Seventies she made a well-timed retreat just before the outbreak of the highly commercialised disco wave, only to return many years later with a revival of her old songs.\r\n \r\n Her album from 1972 has certainly not mellowed with age. Her singing is sharp and soulful, and comes right from the heart "Slipped, Tripped And Fell In Love". The beat is powerful, throbbing, young and fresh "What You Laid On Me" or surging and groovy "How Strong Is A Woman ?". The arrangements come across as sophisticated and well balanced, yet do not baulk at harsh attacks from the winds nor from the use of Hammond and Hohner keyboards, which were so popular at that time. Melody, singers and big band are airy and finely interwoven "Somebody’s On Your Case", while a fusion of soft swing and snappy acerbity "I Pity The Fool" rounds off this album which is filled with pure emotion, heart and soul.\r\n \r\n This Speakers Corner LP was remastered using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head. More information under http://www.pure-analogue.com. All royalties and mechanical rights have been paid.\r\n \r\n Recording : August 1971 at Royal Recording Studios, Memphis, TN, by Willie Mitchell\r\n Production : Willie Mitchell """ -prixVente: "35.00" -delaiLivraison: App\Enum\TempsLivraisonEnum {#1858 …} -musicienOrchestre: "Ann Peebles (vocals), James Mitchell (baritone sax), Andrew Love, Ed Logan (tenor sax, vocals), Jack Hale (trombone), Wayne Jackson (trumpet), Teenie Hodges (guitar), Charles Hodges (organ, piano), Leroy Hodges (bass), Howard Grimes (drums)" -sonMusic: App\Enum\SonMusicEnum {#1133 …} -grammageMusic: App\Enum\GrammageMusicEnum {#1137 …} -rpmMusic: App\Enum\RPMMusicEnum {#1139 …} -lpsMusic: 1 -setBoxMusic: false -limitedEdition: true -preCommande: false -selectionAAD: false -extraitYoutube: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99JOsTPF2zo" -referenceProduit: "Hi Records SHL 32065" -titreMorceau: [ [ "nom" => "Side A : " "ordre" => 0 ] [ "nom" => "1. The band's first album for Atlantic after departing Motown, Spinners ranks as an all-time soul classic a filler-free set boasting immaculate harmonies, sweet melodies, and impeccably matched vocals. Thom Bell's flawless production puts it all over the top. Yielding an ideal balance of lushness and grit, the collaboration between the Detroit-based group and studio veteran yielded a record that birthed the celebrated Philadelphia Sound. Now, you can finally experience it in audiophile-grade sonics.\r\n \r\n While the career-defining performances within the grooves cannot be overlooked, Spinners remains equally notable for its historical importance. At the dawn of the 70s, Motown still held sway as the dominant soul style. Yet the Spinners' decision to move to Atlantic prompted by a suggestion by Aretha Franklin and refashion their approach with Bell signaled a sea change that ushered in a smoother, sweeter variety of R&B punctuated with sweeping strings, jazzy flourishes, brassy replies, and funk rhythms. Few, if any, vocal groups mesh these traits more convincingly, pleasingly, and naturally than the Spinners on this watershed effort.\r\n \r\n Anchored by Top 5 smashes like "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love", Spinners signaled the beginning of a partnership with Bell that lasted seven years and elevated the band to stardom. Indeed, even in spite of the four hit singles, the record remains defined by an artistic consistency, watertight focus, and collective unity that make everything here deserving of close attention. Flush with catchy hooks and pop accents, each song is treated as a potential anthem. Laden with depth and richness, Bell's savvy, wide-open arrangements frame the Spinners' satiny singing with sensual class and refined delicacy.\r\n \r\n Heaven-sent voices do the rest. Making his first appearance on record as a member, Philippe Wynne treats the carefully honed material as a breakout session for his dulcet tenor on tracks such as "One of a Kind (Love Affair)". Not to be outdone, the equally measured Bobbie Smith mesmerizes with his deft phrasing, reedy timbre, and sparkling clarity, never finer than on the million-selling "I'll Be Around". Solo or paired together, Wynne and Smith's glorious leads run the gamut from upbeat and optimistic to sad and forlorn, forming the backbone of a masterwork that addresses romance "Just You and Me Baby", regret "How Could I Let You Get Away", and social ills "Ghetto Child" with consummate passion.
