Analogue Productions is proud to present Long Gone, the debut album by the sensational new rock/ blues, guitarist/ singer-songwriter Jimmy D. Lane. While the listener will hear echoes of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan in Jimmy's playing, he is his own man, a fact recognized recently by Eric Clapton when, after playing together with Jimmy on a forthcoming tribute album to Jimmy's father, Jimmy Rogers, Clapton proclaimed Jimmy Lane an "incredible guitarist." Indeed, the strongest influence on Jimmy's musical development has been his father.\r\n
      \r\n
Long Gone features Jimmy Lane with bassist Freddie Crawford (also a veteran member of Jimmy Rogers band and Jimmy Lane's regular group) and legendary drummer Jim Keltner, who has performed and/or recorded with everyone from John Lennon and Bob Dylan to the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. Jimmy Lane's repertoire on Long Gone is made up of his own originals and covers by blues and rock greats including Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Rogers, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Albert King.\r\n

Jimmie Lee Robinson doesn't dance for the approval of others nor does he thin his music to seduce a wider audience. The self-proclaimed Lonely Traveller's work is an artistic achievement that illustrates why enduring reputations are earned slowly, over time, not swiftly via shrewdly orchestrated media blitzes. His music, honest and unspoiled, comes as a welcome and refreshing alternative in an age of crowd-mesmerizing pyrotechnics, outlandish tempos, and incendiary solos. Remember Me, Robinson's first effort for the APO label and the first album recorded at Blue Heaven Studios, is an adventure deep into the blues of Mr. Robinson's Maxwell Street neighborhood, a neighborhood that has included residencies with musicians such as Little Walter, Howlin Wolf, Freddie King, Elmore James, Luther Tucker, Eddie Taylor, Magic Sam, Jimmy Reed, Shakey Jake, St. Louis Jimmy, Eddy Clearwater, Sunnyland Slim and more. \r\n
      \r\n
On Remember Me, Robinson accompanies himself on acoustic guitar to create The Lonely Traveller's distinctive brand of blues, which he says represents a lifetime of work, the trials and tribulations of growing up on and experiencing Maxwell Street. If you listen closely, you'll also hear Jimmy D. Lane (son of the late blues legend Jimmy Rogers) accompanying on one tune. \r\n
      \r\n
Robinson sings in the powerful and sometimes piercing voice that inspired the Lonesome Lee sobriquet when he began recording for Bandera Records in the 1950s. Boot-stomping, spur-jangling highlights include a rousing performance of "Wait For Me", Jimmy Reed-inspired "Boss Man" and a spirited rendition of "Wagon Wheels".

-nom: "Folk Singer - (Box Set 2 LP) 45 RPM - UltraDisc One-Step"
    -informationComplementaire: null
    -description: """
MASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL MASTER TAPES AND LIMITED TO 10000 NUMBERED COPIES !\r\n
      \r\n
Muddy Waters' Folk Singer remains rightly revered as the greatest-sounding blues album ever released and, to date, one of the only bonafide audiophile records in the genre. Originally issued in 1964 by Chess Records, the all-acoustic work has made the rounds as a demonstration disc and benefitted from myriad reissues, all of which sought to improve upon Willie Dixon and Ralph Bass' legendary, subtlety-abundant production while bringing the musicians into your room. More than five decades after Waters, Buddy Guy, and company initially gathered in a Chicago studio in September 1963, those feats (and more) are finally accomplished in definitive, unsurpassed fashion courtesy of Mobile Fidelity.\r\n
      \r\n
Limited to 10000 numbered copies, pressed on dead-quiet MoFi SuperVinyl at RTI, and mastered from the original master tapes, Mobile Fidelity's ultra-hi-fi UltraDisc One-Step 180 gram 45 RPM (2 LP) collector's edition pays tribute to the album's merit and enhances the intimate program for generations to come. Playing with reference-setting sonics that more than justify its existence in a field filled with prior audiophile reissues of Folk Singer, this spectacular collector's version provides a clear, transparent, ultra-dynamic, and up-close view of a set that inspired Rolling Stone to deem it the 282nd Greatest Album of All Time and proclaim it "a pioneering 'unplugged' set beloved by blues and folk fans alike".\r\n
      \r\n
The premium packaging and beautiful presentation of the UD1S Folk Singer pressing befit its extremely select status. Housed in a deluxe box, it features special foil-stamped jackets and faithful-to-the-original graphics that illuminate the splendor of the recording. No expense has been spared. Aurally and visually, this UD1S reissue exists as a curatorial artifact meant to be preserved, touched, and examined. It is made for discerning listeners that prize sound quality and production, and who desire to fully immerse themselves in the art and everything involved with the album, from the iconic photos to the gorgeous finishes.\r\n
      \r\n
Such potency reveals itself explicitly on a vinyl set afforded uncanny reproduction of Waters' tobacco-stained singing, booming reach, robust acoustic guitar, and instrumental accompanists a Hall of Fame group that comprises a very young Guy, stand-up bassist Dixon, and drummer Francis Clay. Accurately portraying the scale of a human voice remains one of the most difficult tasks to accomplish on a recording. And yet the timbre, richness, and realism of Waters' singing here convey the authority of its inner cavity and considerable depth, allowing notes to individually register all the while pairing with succeeding rhythmic passages in seamless fashion. The presence, feel, and contributions of Waters' esteemed colleagues register, too, with the lifelike nature rivaled only by sitting in a small venue. Indeed, few albums of any style resonate with the reference levels of spaciousness, openness, and "room as an instrument" qualities to the extent of Folk Singer.\r\n
      \r\n
Because of the production's unassailable reputation, ironically, the actual performances on Folk Singer often get short-changed or overlooked. That's a mistake. While much ado about the record's folk-like character and allegedly new direction surrounded the release, Waters' fourth proper album is nothing but the blues and a direct extension back to his Delta lineage and non-amplified roots. Sincere, emotional, direct, spontaneous, and interpretive, Waters and his mates follow a soulful path, completely skirting any notion of prescribed commercialism or pigeonholed definition. Folk Singer echoes with flexibility, liberty, and the artists' own unsullied visions. It could have happened on a Maxwell Street corner on the streets of Chicago.\r\n
      \r\n
Or, as Mr. Bass writes in the original liner notes : "Muddy's rich vibrant tones, sometimes pleading, sometimes whispering, occasionally shouting and chanting, tells [sic] us the story of a blues singer or for lack of a better word a folk singer who can't tell you his story the same way more than once, whose interpretation changes as his mood and nostalgia serves him as on that one memorable day I asked Muddy to sing 'The Blues.'" Memorable storytelling, both in the narrative and instrumental form, dominates Folk Singer, from the autobiographical "My Home Is in the Delta" to a cover of the Sonny Boy Williamson staple "Good Morning Little School" to the solo "Feel Like Going Home".\r\n
      \r\n
Throughout, the nine songs transmit the innate proficiency and learned knowledge of virtuosos as they slowly roll and tumble with unmitigated freedom, informal playfulness, and understated sympathy. Steeped in the ways of the country, Folk Singer registers with a magnetic power and palpable force by keeping quiet, in the process redefining what it means to be loud as well as popular notions of the blues itself. What a ride.\r\n
      \r\n
More About Mobile Fidelity UltraDisc One-Step and Why It Is Superior\r\n
      \r\n
Instead of utilizing the industry-standard three-step lacquer process, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's new UltraDisc One-Step (UD1S) uses only one step, bypassing two processes of generational loss. While three-step processing is designed for optimum yield and efficiency, UD1S is created for the ultimate in sound quality. Just as Mobile Fidelity pioneered the UHQR (Ultra High-Quality Record) with JVC in the 1980s, UD1S again represents another state-of-the-art advance in the record-manufacturing process. MFSL engineers begin with the original master tapes and meticulously cut a set of lacquers. These lacquers are used to create a very fragile, pristine UD1S stamper called a "convert". Delicate "converts" are then formed into the actual record stampers, producing a final product that literally and figuratively brings you closer to the music. By skipping the additional steps of pulling another positive and an additional negative, as done in the three-step process used in standard pressings, UD1S produces a final LP with the lowest noise floor possible today. The removal of the additional two steps of generational loss in the plating process reveals tremendous amounts of extra musical detail and dynamics, which are otherwise lost due to the standard copying process. The exclusive nature of these very limited pressings guarantees that every UD1S pressing serves as an immaculate replica of the lacquer sourced directly from the original master tape. Every conceivable aspect of vinyl production is optimized to produce the most perfect record album available today.\r\n
      \r\n
      MoFi SuperVinyl\r\n
      \r\n
Developed by NEOTECH and RTI, MoFi SuperVinyl is the most exacting-to-specification vinyl compound ever devised. Analog lovers have never seen (or heard) anything like it. Extraordinarily expensive and extremely painstaking to produce, the special proprietary compound addresses two specific areas of improvement : noise floor reduction and enhanced groove definition. The vinyl composition features a new carbonless dye (hold the disc up to the light and see) and produces the world's quietest surfaces. This high-definition formula also allows for the creation of cleaner grooves that are indistinguishable from the original lacquer. MoFi SuperVinyl provides the closest approximation of what the label's engineers hear in the mastering lab.

-nom: "Folk Singer – Special Edition Clarity Vinyl SV-P II 45 RPM"

    -description: """
Well here it is, wait no longer. The most talked about "true audiophile" blues recordings ever. Mastered from the original 1964 Chess analog master tapes by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood on Classic's "All Tube" cutting system, this 200 gram Quiex Super Vinyl Profile pressing brings out elements of the intimate studio production as never before. Muddy's supporting cast includes Buddy Guy on guitar, with occasional visits by Chess veteran drummer Clifton James, Otis Spann's piano and Willie Dixon at the upright. This recording and the Classic pressing of same are revered as providing a "You are in the studio with the Hoochie Coochie Man himself" experience - not to be missed ! On a sad note, the original master tapes used by Classic Records and returned thereafter were damaged by a fire at Universal Music Group vaults 5 years ago and can never be used again making this definitive Classic Records reissue the last and best of this amazing session at Chess Studios in Chicago during the peak of Muddy's career. Enough said !\r\n
      \r\n
Clarity Vinyl represents the ultimate in vinyl formulations because it is comprised of over 90 % percentage of the highest quality co-polymer available - a key component in vinyl pellets used for manufacturing vinyl records. Further, Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LP’s. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause “electrical distortions” in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the “electrical distortions” and thus bring more “Clarity” to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast.\r\n
      \r\n
45 RPM records have long been recognized as providing a higher fidelity musical experience resulting purely from the cartridge being able to extract more of the nuance from the complex vertical and horizontal groove modulations in stereo LP’s. Further, Classic Records 45 RPM “single sided” pressings dramatically reduce the mechanical resonances created by the cartridge during playback by allowing these resonances to be more fully transmitted to and absorbed by the turntable platter.
Classic Records Clarity Vinyl 45 RPM pressings are designed and manufactured to provide the “LOWEST DISTORTION” in every aspect of LP playback resulting in putting the listener as close to the music as possible. With only a handful of copies of this definitive reissue left, don't hesitate before the price on the secondary market skyrockets !

Audiophile vinyl reissue series launches with two blues classics by Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf\r\n
      \r\n
Muddy Waters' The Best of Muddy Waters is a powerful collection of blues songs that include essential tracks such as "Hoochie Coochie Man", and "Rollin' Stone". If the blues had a Mount Rushmore, Muddy Waters' face would be carved front and center, cigar in hand, guitar slung low, smirk that says "You're about to feel this in your bones".\r\n
      \r\n
If there's one record that cemented Waters' legend (and made Chess Records the powerhouse that rewrote American music), it's The Best of Muddy Waters. Originally released in 1958, this was Chess Records' very first LP a bold move in an era when blues records were singles-driven. Leonard and Phil Chess weren't just pressing vinyl; they were pressing the future. The album gathered 12 scorching sides recorded between 1948 and 1954, each one a blueprint for modern electric blues and a direct ancestor of rock 'n' roll.\r\n
      \r\n
      Why It Matters\r\n
      \r\n
      • For Muddy Waters : This album wasn't just a compilation it was his coronation. Tracks such as "I Just Want to Make Love to You" and "I'm Ready" showcase Muddy's swagger : raw, electric, and dangerous enough to make polite society clutch their pearls.\r\n
      \r\n
      • For Chess Records : This LP marked the label's leap into the long-playing format, proving blues could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with jazz and pop on the hi-fi shelf. Spoiler : It sounded better there, too.\r\n
      \r\n
      • For Music History : Every guitar riff that ever strutted out of a Marshall stack owes a drink to this record. Rolling Stones ? Led Zeppelin ? Eric Clapton ? They didn't just love Muddy they worshipped him.\r\n
      \r\n
      Tracks That Slap (and Groove)\r\n
      \r\n
      • "Hoochie Coochie Man" - Willie Dixon's swaggering masterpiece that gave Muddy the myth-making juice.\r\n
      \r\n
      • "Rollin' Stone" - The slow burn that not only inspired a British band's name but practically birthed a movement.\r\n
      \r\n
The Best of Muddy Waters isn't just a greatest-hits record, it's a cultural document. A snapshot of when the Delta plugged in, Chicago turned the volume up, and American music changed forever. Own this and you're holding history that still swings like a wrecking ball.\r\n
      \r\n
Each release in the Chess Records 75 Series is remastered from the original analog tapes by Matt Lutthans at The Mastering Lab, pressed on 180 gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings (QRP) and housed in archival quality tip-on gatefold jackets, offering both audiophiles and collectors a premium listening experience.

"The Quality Record Pressing is drop-dead quiet-as silent as the best Japanese pressings from the late 1970s-and the amount of inner detail released is simply astonishing...the sound is sweet, liquid and free of harshness and edge. The dynamics are mind-boggling. When Muddy takes it up ten notches to emphasize a point it's positively explosive in a way the 33 1/3 version only suggests". Music = 9/10, Sound = 10/10! — Michael Fremer, musicangle.com.\r\n

"How about a 45 RPM set from Analogue Productions' recently launched Quality Record Pressings Facility, mastered by Bernie Grundman, in a beautiful gatefold jacket with extra sessions shots? It's been ages since I've heard LP surfaces this quiet as in dead quiet. The expense and effort that Chad Kassem and company put into this venture are immediately obvious. ... Making music together bring this recording to life as never before. It's by far the best sounding and most engaging version yet... analog lovers will be in hog heaven". - Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, May/June, Issue 223\r\n
      \r\n
"Worried that the folk-music fad was luring listeners away from the blues, Chess Records directed Waters to record with acoustic instruments. These sessions by Waters, Willie Dixon and a young Buddy Guy went astonishingly well, and this pioneering "unplugged" set is beloved by blues and folk fans alike". - rollingstone.com\r\n
      \r\n
"...This time, though, it's been given the royal treatment, and not just heavy vinyl. It has been remastered from the original tapes, pressed on Chad Kassem's new hardware and it plays at 45 RPM. It is a revelation... It's always been a chillingly 'real' experience. Now, it's overwhelming. Buy it!" Sound Quality : 90% - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, January 2012\r\n
Folk Singer has been an audiophile staple for years. It always gets a bunch of play at hi-fi shows. It's a no-doubter demonstration disc. But never before has it sounded like this! Never has it been cut at 45 RPM ! \r\n
      \r\n

If you are a blues fan, you know Howlin' Wolf. And if you know Wolf, you already know Hubert Sumlin. Over a span of almost 25 years together, Hubert and Wolf recorded a slew of acknowledged blues classics (in addition to knocking each other's teeth out !) That's Hubert's hair-raising guitar behind the original versions of Spoonful, Back Door Man, and Killing Floor. Along the way, Hubert became an acknowledged guitar hero too, among others, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards and Eric Clapton, who proclaimed Hubert's style as "just the weirdest".\r\n
      \r\n
Yet as influential as he was until his death in December 2011, Hubert Sumlin recorded relatively few solo albums during his lifetime. And when he did, he was often obscured by a mountain of production. On I Know You, surrounded by old friends such a fellow Wolf bandmate Sam Lay on drums and the great Carey Bell on harmonica, Hubert felt free to create in an intimate setting that captured the spirit of the great Chess recordings from the '50's. APO is proud to present Hubert Sumlin's I Know You. It's 100 percent pure unadultered wild and wooly Hubert !\r\n

"Sumlin is an influence on everyone from the Rolling Stones to Captain Beefheart. (His) solos are instantly recognizable; jagged single notes, shrieks, plunks and shivering moans...as volatile and expressive as the best blues singing". - The New York Times\r\n
      \r\n
"Hubert Sumlin needs no introduction to blues aficionados - he's the man who played that stinging lead guitar on many of Howlin' Wolf's legendary sides, and inspired more than a generation of blues guitarists. He's in fine form here, singing a selection of classics and originals with a rough (but good) voice and guitar solos that jab and weave with a fat ragged tone. Sumlin takes chances with his playing - sometimes he goes off on weird tangents, all the more musically exciting for their expectations - even the "wrong" notes sound right, oh yeah". ?- Frank Doris, Fi Magazine\r\n
      \r\n
"...Hubert Sumlin reclaims his place in blues history with this solo album... But the real joy's in the way he's regained his creative vitality. That comes booming through in his vocals and slow-smoked guitar workouts..."?- Ted Drozdowski, Pulse Magazine\r\n
      \r\n
"I think that I Know You is one of Sumlin's best ever as a solo artist. Everything about this CD displays the emotion and feeling of Chicago blues and calls upon the spirits of Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters to give it the power of their music...A stellar cast really makes Sumlin and this CD click on all cylinders. Sumlin's guitar is as good on this CD as I have heard in recent years and every song is a joy to listen to". - Dave "Doc" Plitz, Blues On Stage\r\n
      \r\n
"Hubert Sumlin's I Know You (APO 2004) is appropriately rough and raunchy, reminiscent of his brutal sideman work with Howlin' Wolf...his authenticity and impact of this rough brand of blues is undeniable. With Chicago veterans like drummer Sam Lay and harmonica ace Carey Bell on board, this session smacks of the real deal without trying too hard...Recorded live to two-track analog, I Know You has an 'old school' charm that should sit well with Chess collectors and vintage blues fans." — Bill Milkowski, Bluetones (JazzTimes) ??"…I Know You has a degree of urgency, coupled with remarkable ease, that makes it a real delight. The result is a record that compares very favorably with Wolf's London Sessions record as a mix of old and new". – All Music Guide

Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time rated No. 477/500 !\r\n
      \r\n
Howlin' Wolf's Moanin' in the Moonlight is a compilation album released by Chess Records in 1959, comprising songs recorded between 1951 and 1959 previously issued as singles, including the iconic hit "Smokestack Lightnin'". As Rolling Stone put it, "The Wolf had the biggest roar in Chicago blues he raved in a fierce growl, backed by explosive playing from guitar geniuses Willie Johnson and Hubert Sumlin. His 1959 debut album has some of the meanest electric blues ever heard... from the eerie railroad drone 'Smokestack Lightnin' to the lowdown 'I Asked for Water (She Gave Me Gasoline)".\r\n
      \r\n
Founded in 1950 by Polish immigrant brothers Leonard and Phil Chess, Chess Records emerged from the south side of Chicago and enhanced and transformed the blues from folk music to popular sound. Wolf added the raw, untamed electricity that turned the blues into a primal force. With Willie Dixon's songwriting magic, Hubert Sumlin's razor-sharp guitar lines, and Wolf's voice a voice that sounds like it was carved out of granite with a switchblade Moanin' in the Moonlight became an anchor of the Chess empire.\r\n
      \r\n
Each release in the Chess Records 75 Series is remastered from the original analog tapes by Matt Lutthans at The Mastering Lab, the wizard who understands that the Wolf's growl should shake your floorboards, not your ears! Likewise, if vinyl had a luxury spa, Quality Record Pressings would be it. Dead-quiet surfaces, 180 gram heft, and grooves so pristine it's Chess mono magic, restored with soul! It's big, it's warm, and the sound is alive. Like Wolf himself just walked into your listening room. Lastly, reissues in this series are housed in archival quality tip-on gatefold jackets, offering both audiophiles and collectors a premium listening experience. \r\n
      \r\n
Bottom line Moanin' in the Moonlight isn't just an album; it's the cornerstone of electric blues. It's the sound of raw power before marketing departments figured out how to package it. Spin this reissue and rediscover why blues fans treat this record like sacred text because when the Wolf howls, the world still listens.

      \r\n
Mighty Sam is a rhythm and blues legend who shook up the blues world with this 1993 release. The great torch bearer of deep soul is caught in top form on this classic album. And now, this gatefold (2 LP) 45 RPM edition presented by Analogue Productions makes the album even greater !\r\n
      \r\n
The four sides of wider-spaced grooves make for reduced distortion and better high frequency reproduction. It's a 180 gram masterpiece from our own Quality Record Pressings, our state-of-the-art LP pressing plant. And the gatefold jacket is hard-core, old-school style thick cardboard, tip-on, with additional photos and liner notes inside. Sweet.\r\n
      \r\n
"McClain sings soul with incredible power he knows when to pull the punches and when to cool it down. 'Give It Up to Love', the title track, acknowledges his gospel roots; he performs it as a vocal prayer to God asking for wisdom, love, and strength. Bruce Katz's contributions on B-3 Hammond organ expands McClain's sound, particularly on the 'Green Onions'-influenced 'What You Want Me to Do'. The sparsely effective arrangement on 'Here I Go Falling in Love Again' brings McClain up front as he cries of being a soul stripped to the bare bones. Kevin Barry's funky bass blows while McClain declares himself as a child of God in 'Child of the Mighty Mighty'". - AllMusic

      - Etta James "The Montreux Years" 180 gram double LP !\r\n
      - Her finest performances from five legendary concerts !\r\n
      - Remastered in superlative audio !\r\n
      - Exclusive liner notes and previously unseen photography !\r\n
      \r\n
Etta James : The Montreux Years is a treasure trove of timeless classics, powerful and electrifying performances and raw, soaring vocals by one of the greatest ever female vocalists. The collection, featuring recordings from James' Montreux Jazz Festival concerts in 1977, 1978, 1989 1990 and 1993, encapsulates and reflects Etta's dynamic artistry and long-lasting impact. Spanning performances from across three decades, Etta James : The Montreux Years offers deeply personal and intimate snapshots into James' acclaimed musical journey, highlights and her phenomenal career.\r\n
      \r\n
From one of Etta James' earliest successes, the infectious and endlessly elegant "Something's Got A Hold On Me", a medley that consist of "At Last", "Trust In Me" and "Sunday Kind of Love", which is a fusion of highlights from the early 60s, to the raw and emotional "I'd Rather Go Blind" and soulful horn-driven "Tell Mama". The collection closes with "Baby What You Want Me To Do", James' homage to Jimmy Reed and the encore of her 1979 concert.\r\n
      \r\n
In 1975, Montreux Jazz Festival captured a significant moment of musical history - Etta James' very first concert in Europe, performing at the festival's 9th edition.
