Now at 45 RPM !\r\n \r\n Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original analog tapes !\r\n \r\n Sleeved in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket !\r\n \r\n "MoFi may have the rest of their catalogue, but Chad Kassem's coup is grabbing this album, the band's second, from 1974. Why ? Because it kicks off with their anthem, the inimitable, riff-driven, majestic ‘’Sweet Home Alabama’’ one of the greatest air-guitar/road trip songs ever. By this time, the band was a mite slicker but just as unapologetically Confederate-with-a-capital 'C' as on their debut. The opener does overshadow the rest, but the album serves up what the LP title promises in ‘’The Needle And The Spoon’’ which sounds like ‘’Sweet Home Alabama II’’. Musically, this nestles alongside Little Feat and The Allman Brothers Band deservedly high praise". - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News, April 2014\r\n \r\n Get ready for some Southern hospitality, courtesy of Analogue Productions, Quality Record Pressings and one of the hardest-rocking bands to ever grace a stage! With a catalog of over 60 albums and sales beyond 30 million, Lynyrd Skynyrd remains a cultural icon that appeals to all generations.\r\n \r\n This Lynyrd Skynyrd 1974 album now is pressed at 45 RPM on four glorious sides of 200 Gram vinyl from the best presser in the business, Quality Record Pressings. The dead-quiet double-LP, with the music spread over four sides of vinyl, reduces distortion and high frequency loss as the wider-spaced grooves let your stereo cartridge track more accurately.\r\n \r\n Second Helping follows the success of "Free Bird" and "Gimme Three Steps" from their 1973 debut and features their biggest hit single, "Sweet Home Alabama", an answer to Neil Young's "Southern Man" and "Alabama". The song reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1974. Second Helping also featured "Don't Ask Me No Questions", "Workin' for MCA" and "Call Me The Breeze", the latter of which includes an acclaimed piano solo. Backed by a tight rhythm section and the mighty three-guitar attack of Allen Collins, Ed King and Gary Rossington, singer Ronnie Van Zant turns in a legendary performance on the urgent blues ballad "I Need You", the cautionary "The Needle And The Spoon" and "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew". 200 Gram vinyl, mastering by Kevin Gray, lacquer plating by QRP's Gary Salstrom, heavy, tip-on gatefold jacket. None better.\r\n \r\n """ -prixVente: "99.50" -delaiLivraison: App\Enum\TempsLivraisonEnum {#1885 …} -musicienOrchestre: "Ronnie Van Zant (vocals), Leon Wilkeson (bass), Ed King (guitar Fender Stratocaster), Allen Collins (guitar Gibson Firebird), Gary Rossington (guitar Gibson Les Paul), Billy Powell (keyboards), Bob Burns (drums)" -sonMusic: App\Enum\SonMusicEnum {#1133 …} -grammageMusic: App\Enum\GrammageMusicEnum {#1138 …} -rpmMusic: App\Enum\RPMMusicEnum {#1140 …} -lpsMusic: 2 -setBoxMusic: false -limitedEdition: true -preCommande: false -selectionAAD: false -extraitYoutube: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL-jC7XyLeo" -referenceProduit: "AAPP 413-45" -titreMorceau: [ [ "nom" => "1. Hi-Fi News Album Of The Month - Ken Kessler, Hi-Fi News\n \n Originally released on CD for Drive On Records in 2009, Gun Metal Sky marked Lori Lieberman's debut as an arranger for strings and woodwinds. While most of the songs are self-penned, the collection includes unique and interesting versions of songs from some of our most beloved songwriters, including Emmylou Harris, Paul Simon, The Bee Gees and The Hollies.\n \n Best known for "Killing Me Softly", written during her Troubadour days in Los Angeles when she saw Don McLean in concert, Lori Lieberman has now recorded 14 LPs and CDs for Capitol Records, Pope Music and Drive On Records. She has gleaned the respect of an industry and a devoted base of fans worldwide.\n \n Lieberman's early music history formed in California in the seventies on the Sunset Strip and the West Coast club scene circuit that included singer-songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne and the Eagles. She toured the U.S. and Europe with Randy Newman, Billy Joel, Leonard Cohen, John Sebastian and Rick Nelson, to name a few. \n \n Lieberman was nominated for the Golden Note Award for excellence with A Thousand Dreams on Pope Music, and two CDs followed - Home Of Whispers and Gone Is The Girl, which featured her stunning songs, warm vocals and rich orchestrations.\n \n "I have conducted many A+B comparisons over the years as one of the founders of the late Cello Music and Film with Mark Levinson, and now as a professional recording engineer I spend a great deal of time comparing tracks, mixes and fine tuning mastered material. Recently we decided to release two collections of Lori Lieberman's on vinyl and ordered Test Pressings from another source. When you told me about QRP I was very interested and excited to have our material pressed at your remarkable facility. But I had no idea what a dramatic difference could be made by just the pressing technique. Both sets of lacquers were prepared by Kevin Gray so all conditions were equal. The depth of the stage, clarity and detail of our mixes, and in particular the air surrounding Lori's voice, representative of what I hear in our studio was remarkable. This was not subtle. The material lives as pressed by QRP. You would have thought I changed phono cartridges, turntables or phono preamp. Congratulations. Your pressing plant is the finest anywhere and we will continue to only press Lori's albums exclusively with QRP. The history of the hall parallels somewhat New York's Carnegie Hall. The musicians in the National Symphonic Winds come from the premier military bands of the United States as well as the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The result was a superb mix of seasoned and assured professionals for this single, five-hour recording session.\n \n Lowell Graham, a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, was also the first to be awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in orchestral conducting from the Catholic University of America. He has led orchestras and bands in performances throughout the world, and he's the current conductor and commander of the United States Air Force Tactical Air Command Band.\n \n Recorded with minimal miking (Sennheiser), directly to 2-track half-inch, 30 ips tape using arguably the finest 2-track analog recorder in the world - the Wilson Ultramaster - a highly-modified Studer tape deck with custom-designed electronics designed by John Curl. To accomplish this difficult, time pressure recording, the recording engineering skills of the renowned Bruce Leek were employed.\n \n The extreme dynamic range of the music remains intact as well as the soundstage and timbre of the ensemble remaining completely natural. There is no added enhancement to the concert hall's natural reverberation. When raising the volume, be careful as these real world dynamics can be harmful to playback equipment if care is not taken.\n \n The musical repertoire was chosen to be user friendly, vivid, colorful and impactful. Selections from Tony-winning stage classics "Barnum", "West Side Story" and "Oklahoma" are joined by compositions from John Williams, including "Olympic Fanfare" composed for the 1984 Olympic Games. Selections from the Walt Disney favorite "Mary Poppins" include "Spoonful of Sugar", "Chim Chim Cheree" and more. These significant recordings hold a distinctive place in the audio and musical world. He recorded his first hit single "Tight Rope" with the release of his third, and most successful album Carney, in 1972, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 200.\n \n Two years earlier Russell had already played on hundreds of songs as one of the top studio musicians in Los Angeles. The Oklahoma-born pianist, guitarist, songwriter and bandleader led Joe Cocker's band Mad Dogs & Englishmen, appeared at George Harrison's 1971 Concert for Bangladesh in New York City, and composed numerous hits of his own. He was in Phil Spector's Wall of Sound Orchestra, and played sessions for Frank Sinatra, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, the Ventures and the Monkees, among many others.\n \n But it was the top-rated Carney, reissued here on an audibly exquisite 200 gram LP from Analogue Productions, that put Russell into the league of extraordinary musicians. Soulful roots-rock yields to dizzying psychedelia on this, Russell's most famous album. His all-time biggest hit, "Tight Rope", leads to "Out in the Woods", "Cajun Love Song", "This Masquerade", and more! No link in the reissue chain was sacrificed, making this outstanding reissue a true audiophile masterpiece. Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio remastered the album from the original master tapes; plating and pressing took place at Quality Record Pressings, makers of the world's finest-sounding LPs. Lastly, as benefits a stellar reissue, we packaged our version in a heavyweight old-style tip-on jacket from Stoughton Printing.\n \n Russell wrote scores of hits for others, among them "Superstar", (written with Bonnie Bramlett) for the Carpenters, "Delta Lady" for Joe Cocker and "This Masquerade", for George Benson. His own version of "This Masquerade" is featured on Carney. More than 100 acts recorded "A Song for You", which Russell said he wrote in 10 minutes. Ray Charles' recording of the song in 1993 received a Grammy Award.\n \n Sadly, Russell's life as a musical muse and performer ended with his death at 74 on Nov. 13, 2016, at his home in Nashville.
