      - Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition on 180 gram LP !\r\n
      - All-analog mastering from the original master tapes !\r\n
      \r\n
In the 1960s, Blue Note's roster of organists boasted a formidable line-up of leading Hammond B3 practitioners such as Jimmy Smith, Big John Patton, Baby Face Willette, and Larry Young each of whom was honing their own distinctive styles on the instrument.\r\n
      \r\n
The Bronx born Freddie Roach was first introduced to Blue Note listeners on Ike Quebec's albums Heavy Soul and It Might As Well Be Spring and began his own run of leader dates with his excellent 1962 debut Down To Earth. The deeply soulful six-song set was a showcase of his nuanced, bluesy sound and his knack for writing thoroughly enjoyable original tunes such as "De Bug" and "Althea Soon" that were ideal vehicles for this swinging four-piece band featuring Percy France on tenor saxophone, Kenny Burrell on guitar, and Clarence Johnston on drums.\r\n

Freddie Roach was first introduced to Blue Note listeners on Ike Quebec’s albums Heavy Soul and It Might As Well Be Spring and soon began his own run of leader dates for the label including the 1963 standout Good Move featuring Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone,Eddie Wright on guitar, andClarence Johnston on drums. This soul jazz classic makes all the right moves with set highlights including “When Malindy Sings”, an Oscar Brown song that was performed by Abbey Lincoln, and Roach’s own church-rooted “Wine, Wine, Wine” and “On Our Way Up,” an uplifting anthem that he wrote on the day of the historic March on Washington.\r\n

The Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series was born out of Blue Note President Don Was’ admiration for the exceptional audiophile Blue Note LP reissues presented by Music Matters. Was brought Joe Harley, a.k.a. the “Tone Poet,” on board to curate and supervise a series of reissues from the Blue Note family of labels.\r\n

Extreme attention to detail has been paid to getting these right in every conceivable way, from the jacket graphics and printing quality to superior LP mastering (direct from the master tapes) by Kevin Gray to superb 180 gram audiophile LP pressings by Record Technology Inc. Every aspect of these Tone Poet releases is done to the highest possible standard. It means that you will never find a superior version. This is IT.\r\n

Including a number of Hubbard originals and such notables as Curtis Fuller (trombone), Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone), Eric Dolphy (alto saxophone), Cedar Walton (piano), Reggie Workman (bass), and Louis Hayes (drums), the album stands alone as one of the most unique productions in Freddie's substantive discography and as a showcase for the arranging skills of Wayne Shorter. This Verve By Request title is pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Third Man in Detroit.

      - Handpicked rarities and fan favorites include out-of-print titles and first-ever vinyl pressings !\r\n
      \r\n
In his last release for the Impulse label, Freddie Hubbard's ambitious 1963 recording The Body & The Soul includes both an all-star septet and an orchestra with strings.

The newest package from the MPS Reforest the Legend series embraces the decade of 1970-1980, and covers a wide diversity of styles. From 1970, the The Hub of Hubbard presents trumpeter Freddie Hubbard with his quintet at an important crossroads in his career.\r\n
      \r\n
Hubbard, whose Atlantic recordings had straddled the boundary between hard bop and the avant-garde, sticks to bebop on this excellent recording. Performing in a quintet with tenor-saxophonist Eddie Daniels (no clarinet this time), pianist Roland Hanna, bassist Richard Davis and drummer Louis Hayes, Hubbard is in top form on four selections : "Without a Song", a ridiculously uptempo "Just One of Those Things", "Blues for Duane" and a ballad rendition of "The Things We Did Last Summer".\r\n
      \r\n
Once again sound engineers Christoph Stickel and Dirk Sommer have scrupulously remastered the original recordings. The resulting releases are high quality 180 gram vinyl pressings enclosed in record jackets containing the original artwork.

Despite having performed on several of the most revolutionary avant-garde jazz records of the 1960s, including Ornette Coleman's Free Jazz and John Coltrane's Ascension, Freddie Hubbard's own albums tended to hew closer to the mainstream. Perhaps no other single album captures the trumpeter's awe-inspiring breadth of ability and versatility than Breaking Point!, which was recorded in May 1964 shortly after Hubbard had departed Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in order to form his own band. On this five-song set, featuring five of Hubbard's original compositions, his new quintet - with James Spaulding on alto saxophone and flute, Ronnie Mathews on piano, Eddie Khan on bass, and Joe Chambers on drums moves assuredly across vast stylistic terrain. On the stunning title track alone the band shifts from free-form exploration into a playful Calypso and back with ease. The rest of the program traverses modal jazz "Far Away", the blues "Blue Frenzy", and stunningly beautiful balladry Chambers' "Mirrors" to create one of the more remarkable albums in Hubbard's formidable Blue Note oeuvre.\r\n
      \r\n
The Blue Note Tone Poet Series was born out of Blue Note President Don Was' admiration for the exceptional audiophile Blue Note LP reissues presented by Music Matters. The prodigious trumpeter Freddie Hubbard debuted on Blue Note in 1960 and produced an astounding run of recordings over the first half of the decade that culminated with Blue Spirits, which was the last of his 1960s studio albums for the label. This bluesy and spirited album presented five evocative Hubbard originals, each of which was given a richly textured arrangement for an ensemble that included a dynamic four-horn lineup. Drawn from two different sessions, the first date produced the gratifying opening track "Soul Surge" and the percolating "Cunga Black" with Hubbard joined by James Spaulding on alto saxophone and flute, Joe Henderson on tenor saxophone, Kiane Zawadi on euphonium, Harold Mabern on piano, Larry Ridley on bass, Clifford Jarvis on drums, and Big Black on congas. A week later Hubbard returned to Van Gelder Studio with Spaulding, Zawadi, and a slightly different lineup including Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone, McCoy Tyner on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and Pete LaRoca on drums. This second session rounded out the album with hard-charging performances of "Outer Forces" and "Jodo," as well as the mesmerizing title track.\r\n

      - Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition on 180 gram LP !\r\n
      - All-analog mastering from the original master tapes !\r\n
      \r\n
Trumpeter Freddie Hubbard burst out of the gates with a torrent of creativity beginning with his debut album Open Sesame in 1960, and throughout the next two years turned out six classic albums including Ready for Freddie, Hub-Tones, and Here to Stay, which was recorded in December 1962. Here to Stay was initially prepped for release in 1963-Reid Miles even designed a brilliant eye-catching cover-but perhaps due to Hubbard's prodigious output the album was ultimately shelved and not first released until 1976.\r\n
      \r\n
Certainly that decision was not due to any musical shortcomings with Hubbard fronting a state-of-the-art quintet with tenor saxophonist Wayne Shorter, pianist Cedar Walton, bassist Reggie Workman, and drummer Philly Joe Jones. The compelling six song set included two compelling Hubbard originals "Philly Mignon" and "Nostrand and Fulton", two pieces by composer Cal Massey "Father and Son" and "Assunta", as well as an unforgettable version of the timeless standard "Body and Soul".\r\n
      \r\n
This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180 gram vinyl at Optimal.

Certified 3 x platinum, Duets brought together an array of global superstars including Charles Aznavour, Anita Baker, Tony Bennett, Bono, Natalie Cole, Gloria Estefan, Aretha Franklin, Kenny G, Julio Iglesias, Liza Minnelli, Carly Simon, Barbara Streisand and Luther Vandross for an album of standards including many songs instantly associated with the "Chairman of the Board."\r\n
      \r\n
Duets made history for its cutting-edge recording techniques, it's renowned stars and for being one of the top-selling albums of 1993, putting the then 77-year-old Sinatra at the N° 2 spot on the Billboard charts between Pearl Jam's Vs. and Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell II.\r\n
      \r\n
The highly successful follow-up, Duets II, was released the next year. Duets II includes Jimmy Buffett, Neil Diamond, Lena Home, Chrissie Hynde, Antonio Carlos Joblm, Patti LaBelle, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Luis Miguel, Lorrie Morgan and others. Once again, Sinatra celebrated a Top 10 record with Duets II charting at N° 9 on Billboard's Top 200 chart.\r\n
      \r\n
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of this groundbreaking, multi-platinum selling album, Capitol/Universal Music Enterprises has released a newly-mastered edition featuring the original Duets and Duets II together in one package.
